Cable lock

What is a cable lock?

A cable lock is a flexible, steel-coated cable with a locking mechanism on one end.

To use it, check to make sure that the firearm is unloaded and no bullets remain in the chamber. Then, thread the cable through the firearm — typically through the chamber or ejection port — to disable it.

Once locked, the firearm can’t be loaded or fired, because the cable blocks the mechanism.

Trigger lock

What is a trigger lock?

A trigger lock is a locking mechanism designed to fit securely over a firearm’s trigger guard. Once in place, it prevents access to the trigger and disables the ability to fire until the lock is removed with a key or combination.

Trigger locks should always be reviewed or demonstrated by a trained professional to ensure safe and proper use.
